Dr Rebecca Gater - Principal & Chief Executive

Dr Rebecca Gater

Principal & Chief Executive

I am delighted to welcome you to Solihull College and University Centre (SCUC). Whether you are beginning or continuing your educational journey with us, we look forward to welcoming you to our campuses.

Paramount to the academic achievement and excellence at SCUC is our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we encourage one another to foster a community free of intolerance and discrimination, and to promote a campus climate that is respectful, civil, supportive, and safe. These core values allow us to provide a learning environment where we can all pursue our dreams and reach our highest potential.

You are about to embark on an exciting new stage of your life, one that will bring many invaluable learning opportunities with it. You will be experiencing many new insights, will be challenged and equipped as you interact with tutors and peers in class, engage in significant conversations, and write thoughtful assignments and will no doubt strike up enduring friendships. Most importantly of all, of course, you will be laying the foundation stone for your personal and career development.

We are here to support your success; our professional services and academic teams will make every effort to support your academic and professional development goals.

During your time with us, you will have various opportunities to share your learning experience and be empowered to shape your educational journey. Please use these opportunities and have your voice heard.

As you develop intellectually during your educational journey you will be challenged, you will experience highs and lows, you will work harder than you think you are capable of, and you will accomplish more than you think is achievable. You will then discover that this process of maturing intellectually is an art to be learned and an effort to be sustained, to become what you dream of becoming.

I wish you every success in your course at Solihull College & University Centre and I look forward to meeting you in the near future.
