This week marks the 75-year anniversary of VE Day, but with parades and public festivities off the cards due to the coronavirus outbreak, Solihull College & University Centre students have found a different way to mark the occasion.
Students from the College’s Hair & Media Makeup department have been creating VE Day inspired looks from home using a variety of techniques learnt on their course.
Hair & Media make-up lecturer, Katie Miller, stated: “The challenge was to create a 1940s VE day inspired hair and make-up look, either on the student themselves or on somebody in their household. We were extremely impressed with the response from our talented students who really got behind this task and produced a range of skilled and creative looks.”
