Solihull College & University Centre is thrilled to announce the launch of its new HND in Sport & Exercise Science (Coaching Science), set to begin this September.
This innovative programme is designed to nurture aspiring sports professionals by providing a comprehensive curriculum that covers both the scientific and practical aspects of sport and coaching.
The course begins with the Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC), which lays the groundwork in key areas such as nutrition, sport and exercise psychology, anatomy and physiology, and professional skills. Students will gain a solid understanding of the fundamental principles that drive athletic performance and coaching.

At Level 5, the Higher National Diploma (HND) delves deeper into specialised subjects, including community coaching, sports massage, biomechanics, injury prevention, and the application of technology in sport. This advanced stage of the programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the sports industry.

Graduates of the course will find themselves well-prepared for a range of career opportunities, such as sports coach, community sports leader, and performance developer. Additionally, the qualification opens doors to further studies at the degree level, with pathways to BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) courses in Sport & Fitness Studies, Sport and Exercise Science, and Sports Studies.
