Solihull College & University Centre is looking for students currently in year 9 or 10 who are interested in exploring Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to take part in their Routes into STEM programme. As well as students the College are calling on teachers or career advisers who are looking for work experience for their students and teachers who are looking for some training to get involved.
The Routes into STEM programme is an innovative 3-day non-residential course that provides young people aged between 13 and 15 as well as teachers with an amazing opportunity to compare both university and apprenticeship pathways into STEM careers. The course allows both students and teachers to gain first-hand experience of life at college, university and within a company as they will spend one day at each respectively.
Those who take part will have the chance to experience real work application of STEM subjects, gain exposure to the multi-faceted world that is a career in STEM and also gain an understanding of all available routes into STEM careers.
Solihull College & University Centre will be working with Birmingham City University and Amey on the programme and it is set to start on Tuesday 30th May for 3 days, running from 8:45am until approximately 4:30pm each day.
The course costs just £125 and if you wish to apply for a bursary for the programme you must select this option when submitting your application and email/post supporting documents.
Please note if we do not receive the information within 10 days of your application, we won’t be able to consider you for a bursary.
