Solihull College & University Centre has added to their programme of Hair and Beauty Therapy Qualifications with a new course in Hair and Media Make-Up Studies.
The course, which begins in September, will give students the chance to study the art of photographic make-up, dressing hair, face painting, and applying make-up amongst many other skills.
The Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-Up Studies will allow students to gain the knowledge and skills needed in the industry, which will also be enhanced by the work experience placements students undertake whilst on the course, allowing learners to progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-Up course. Students can also have the opportunity to move on to work within a beauty salon as a make-up specialist or freelance make-up artist as well as working within a department store for a cosmetic company after they have completed the course or progress on to further study in hair or media make up.
Katie Miller, Beauty Therapy Lecturer at Solihull College & University Centre said: “This brand new Diploma in Hair and Media Make Up is the perfect choice for those wishing to enter the hair and make up industry, whilst keeping their career options flexible. It will provide all the elements required to work effectively as a hair and make-up artist, including the art of dressing hair and photographic make up.”
