Last year, during national apprenticeship week, Solihull College & University Centre set itself a challenge of getting 100 new apprentices on board on a variety of apprenticeship programmes within 100 days. The College managed to achieve its target and even completed the objective 10 days early.
This year Solihull College & University Centre is once again setting itself the task to recruit 100 apprentices on to a variety of programmes including vacancies in beauty therapy, business, customer service, early years, engineering, hairdressing, health and social care, and hospitality in just 100 days.
The College hopes to beat the efforts from 2015 and secure 100 apprentices in less than 90 days in 2016’s apprenticeship campaign.
Apprenticeships are a great way for students to learn and being paid whilst they do so might sound too good to be true, however, as an apprentice this is reality. Apprenticeships enable students to learn the skills and gain the recognised qualifications needed to progress within their chosen profession as well as gaining industry experience which allows them to stand out amongst other candidates when applying for jobs. Career prospects are endless for those who complete an apprenticeship scheme as they can go on to higher education or progress up to the next level in employment.
Solihull College & University Centre has launched it’s ‘100 apprentices in 100 days’ as part of National Apprenticeship Week this week and will be updating their social media accounts with their progress. The College will be working with a variety of different businesses within the Midlands region to offer a great range of apprenticeships for young people with the local area.
