In a move to further show their support and commitment to local business and the wider economy, Solihull College has welcomed the Solihull Chamber of Commerce to the Blossomfield Campus, relocating from Starley Way near Birmingham Airport on a permanent basis.
The College, who have well established links with key local employers across the Solihull and Greater Birmingham area, are hoping this move by the Chamber will continue to demonstrate to local businesses the College’s commitment to linking business to education.
Shaun Hindle, Senior Director for Employment and Skills at the College comments: “We are delighted to welcome Solihull Chamber as they choose the College as their new business residence. This is an exciting opportunity for us both and will certainly help to strengthen the link the College has with the business world and help ensure that our students are fully prepared for their next step into the world of work”?
Along with the College providing both further and higher education to learners aged 16+, including adult learners, unemployed adults and apprentices, the College is dedicated to ensuring learners leave ‘work ready’. The College is therefore proactive when working with local employers to understand and respond to business needs, to help create employable young people.
Joan Smith, Operations Director at Solihull Chamber of Commerce comments: “I am delighted that Solihull Chamber are now located in Solihull College. It makes perfect sense to be connected in this way not only for collaborative working but to address the skills agenda with our members and local businesses by involving the college in all our forthcoming events.
