Solihull College & University Centre student Hayley Danks has excelled whilst studying towards her level 3 travel and tourism qualification at the College.
Hayley, who has previously completed her Cabin Crew qualification at Solihull College began thinking of her career prospects as she nears the end of her travel and tourism course and applied online to work for British airline Monarch. Hayley completed her application successfully and was invited to an assessment day which involved a variety of different tests for her to complete. Hayley impressed on the day and was through to the next stage of interviews.
Hayley was able to use the knowledge learnt from both her cabin crew, and travel and tourism courses at Solihull College to progress through the application process. She comments: “The training I have already completed on my course definitely helped within the assessment day as I had covered a lot of what we were doing.”
19 year old Hayley, who currently has a customer service role at Birmingham Airport, was successful in her interview with Monarch and was offered a job as a member of cabin crew. She begins her training at the beginning of May and will start flying at the start of June. Hayley commented that she was very shocked she had got the job and is excited to start her training. Hayley’s tutors at Solihull College paid tribute to her success and commented they were proud of her achievement; Hayley’s hard work and determination has now paid off.
The cabin crew course at Solihull College & University Centre is run at both the Blossomfield and Woodlands Campus for learners wishing to follow in the footsteps of Hayley. For more information visit the family open day at Woodlands Campus on Saturday 23rd April or call 0121 678 7000.
