Learners will undertake practical placements as part of their course which will give them the industry knowledge and experience to benefit them when seeking employment within the field. The CACHE Certificate in Childcare and Education’s modules include: child development from conception to 7 years; children’s health and well-being; providing safe environments for children; child health; play and learning; understanding children’s additional needs; observation, assessment and planning; and professional practice portfolio.
Lecturer & Teaching and Learning Coach at the College, Helen Barber comments: “This new CACHE course is a good mix of both theory and practical assessments. It will allow you to become a part of the nursery experience for a year whilst developing your knowledge and understanding alongside developing enriching experiences for the children in your care.”
The course, which is a one year programme, can provide progression to the Level 3 Early Years Educator Diploma on achievement as well as leading to employment in a variety of areas.
