If you want to surround yourself with animals, how about working with dogs and maybe becoming a pet sitter, dog groomer or a dog walker? The number of house and pet-sits in the UK rose by 55 percent in 2023, according to pet sitting website TrustedHousesitters, so demand is on the up. The College offers a wide range of dog-related courses to get you on the path to success including Understanding Dogs and their Behaviour, Canine First Aid as well as a SEG Award in Dog Grooming in our brand-new state-of-the-art dog grooming centre.
As personal fitness keeps dominating the headlines at this time of year, have you thought about turning your passion for fitness into a job? Our Gym Instructing and Personal Training Level courses will teach you all you need to know about setting up as a personal trainer. And if sports recovery is your thing, we offer Sports Massage Therapy courses which will set you on your way.
How about finances and accounting? Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) data from 2021 shows one in three retail investment advisers were aged between 50 and 59 – while just one in 20 were younger than 30. People over 50 have more life experience of core financial products such as mortgages and pensions, so they can bring a wealth of knowledge to an adviser role. You could start with one of our AAT accounting courses at a level to suit you!
