A local aviation company has been rewarded for its strong relationship working with students from Solihull College & University Centre.
STS Aviation picked up an award at the inaugural Skills Partnership Awards, which were presented by the Minister for Skills, Jacqui Smith and the Mayor of the West Midlands, Richard Parker.
The awards were part of a celebration event hosted by Skills West Midlands + Warwickshire (Skills WM+W) to celebrate its first anniversary. An initiative brought about by the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), Skills WM+W was set up to help bridge the gap between employers and Further Education. It brings local colleges and training providers together to provide a central point to support the development of the technical skills needed to boost the local economy.

Solihull College & University Centre awarded STS Aviation an award for their contribution to helping students become career ready. STS Aviation is a global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for both commercial and military sectors.
The College has been working with STS for several years. Vice Principal for Business Growth, Skills & Partnerships at the College, Nancy Buckley, comments: “STS Aviation has demonstrated exceptional commitment to supporting apprentices and inspiring future talent.
