Solihull College & University Centre’s students are celebrating after achieving a 100% pass rate this summer on many of their programmes.
With numbers of applications also showing an upward trend, staff are looking forward to training the hairdressers, barbers, beauty therapists and make up artists of the future in the College’s industry-standard ‘Aspire’ Salons and recently launched Make Up Studio.
The College experienced a number of student success stories this academic year, with many students entering employment following their course.
The department were awarded a ‘College of Excellence’ by Wella and by leading spa, Ragdale Hall where Beauty Therapy student, Meggan Venus was also employed after impressing on work experience.
Hair & Media Make-Up students visited London in June to attend a showing of West End hit Wicked, before visiting the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) where they were able to see first-hand a variety of make-up techniques in action.
Head of School for Retail & Commercial, Sara Sweeney states: “These success rates are a wonderful testament to all the hard work of our staff and students. Happy students mean a happy College!”
The new academic year commences this month and it is not too late to apply. School leaver late interview sessions will take place between 3pm-5pm Monday to Thursday and 3pm-4pm on Friday all this week.
