3rd October 2019

A computing student from Solihull College & University Centre is celebrating after finding employment with CCL Group. CCL Group, based in Stratford Upon Avon, is a leading provider of integrated digital forensics, data analytics and cyber security, assisting law enforcement when protecting the public, and corporate firms with information governance and cyber security.

Mohammed Ghaleb, 19, was introduced to CCL Group through Digital Innov8ors who offer employability skills training at the College.

As part of the interview, students were invited to provide a 15-minute presentation on technology in the last ten years to include a 3-minute video report about involving VR in the classroom. Mohammed visited Stratford-upon-Avon and competed alongside university graduates for the role. “I thought it would be great practice,” he admits, “I never thought I’d get the place against other graduates.”

A few days after his presentation Mohammed heard from CCL that he had been successful. He will be starting his role in October as a Junior Mobile Device Analyst and will be working in Digital Forensics, looking at data stored on devices.

Digital Innov8ors work alongside courses at the College and offer a unique approach to learning by preparing students with the skills employers need in a Digital world. Mohammed comments “It definitely helped raise my confidence over the years, especially with presentations at high profile events such as the Global Conrad Challenge.”

Samantha Marklew, Head of HR for CCL Group added; “We are delighted to be welcoming Mohammed into the digital forensics team at CCL Group. We set out on our partnership with Solihull College & University Centre and Digital Innov8tors to actively engage with the community and attract fantastic local talent that can develop their career with us. We continue to grow our workforce and look forward to developing the partnership with more success stories like this in the future.”

Mohammed is excited to start his new role and is looking forward to his future in this fast-growing industry.
