College seals successful award year
Thursday, 18 December, 2014

Following the success of a string of awards for their digital marketing communications, Solihull College has scooped a further award nomination for the prestigious Times Education Supplement (TES) Further Education Awards 2015.

Over a hundred colleges and training providers submitted entries for one or more of the twelve categories, which recognise the best individual and team contributions to the sector.

The College marketing team has been shortlisted for ‘Marketing/Communications Campaign of the Year’ 2015 for their interactive higher education digimag which contains high video content. Over the past four years, the College marketing team has continued to build on their decision to move away from the printed prospectus.
Solihull College became one of the first in the country to produce a digital prospectus which incorporates interactive videos. In 2012, the College marked the growth of its HE provision with a HE digimag, to match its FE counterpart. In its first year a HE induction survey identified that over 50% of respondents had viewed the digimag and over half said it had impacted positively on their decision.
Dave Cooper, the College’s Director of Marketing comments: “??Educational digital communications is now matching commercial standards and I am delighted to see the College receive another award nomination. For the team to be recognised by such a prestigious body is a true mark of how far we have come in four years with our digital communications”?.

This is the second year the College has been nominated for a TES FE Award and marks the end of a very successful year for the College’?s marketing digital communications. Director of Marketing, Dave Cooper was recently nominated by his team for a Lifetime Achievement Award by the College Marketing Network. This inaugural award was handed to Dave by the marketing team at an awards night in London.

The winners will be revealed at a glittering ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, on Friday 27 February 2015. To see the full list of who’s in the running, pick up a copy of this week’s TES, or visit www.tesfeawards.co.uk .
