The wait is nearly over for thousands of young people across Solihull and Birmingham, and most will have the same question needing an answer: what next? To provide some much needed guidance, Solihull College is holding two events during August; the Higher Education Advice Day on Tuesday 19th August and the School Leaver Advice Day on Tuesday 26th August.
Both events will provide information and advice for both post-16 learners and post-18, along with adult learners. Experienced staff from subject areas including, Hair and Beauty, Animal Care, Construction and Engineering, Health and Social Care and Public Services will be on hand to explain which courses, levels and progression routes are available.
Solihull College offers a strong offering of courses for both further and higher education; the University Centre opened last summer and is one of the first to be set up by an FE college in the Midlands.
The College maintains strong links with some of the best universities in the country, such as Oxford Brookes and University of Warwick, to ensure that students will achieve their potential in higher education. For learners who don’t have the qualifications to access a Higher Education, Solihull College can help with gaining the necessary qualifications.
Sue McGregor, Director of Curriculum at the College, comments: “??Progressing in education can be confusing, the important decisions can be overwhelming and students may be left unsure. These Advice Days are perfect for students to voice any queries they may have, and discover their different options. We look forward to welcoming in a wide range of future learners during these days”?.
The Higher Education Advice Day will be held on Tuesday 19th August, 2pm – 6pm, at our Blossomfield Campus. The School Leaver Advice Day will be held on Tuesday 26th August, 2pm – 6pm, at both our Blossomfield and Woodland campuses.
