Solihull College & University Centre is celebrating after being named one of the top three Colleges in the UK for its student reviews at the ‘Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019’.
The awards are an annual celebration of the best universities in the UK as voted for by the students themselves. This year’s ceremony was held in London on 25th April and saw teams from universities across the UK attend in anticipation of the results across a variety of award categories.
The College’s top 3 placing in the ‘FE College’ category was based on the reviews submitted by the College’s university level students, who provided feedback on a range of categories including overall student experience, courses and lecturers, student support and job prospects.
Students were very complimentary about their experiences. As part of her review, student Lily commented ‘I like that there is a HE Centre and HE Student Hub. The library is amazing with all the books that help out with my coursework. It’s great knowing that there is someone there to talk to and a place to go’.
Mature student Deanna states; ‘I am in my second year and it is the best decision I made as a mature student. I have learnt so much and will have so much to take away’.
Fellow student Elizabeth added; ‘The tutors are very helpful with everything inside and outside of college, I feel I can talk to my tutor with confidence’.
The College offers a variety of university level courses, including many in collaboration with leading universities. Courses are offered full and part time allowing students to study around work and family life.
Marketing Manager Sean Howitt comments: ‘The opinion of our students is of huge importance to us, so we are very proud as a college to receive an award based on this feedback. We will continue to work towards becoming the # 1 college in the UK for student satisfaction’.
