10th June 2019

Solihull College & University Centre is excited to introduce a new BA degree in Social Justice Studies for September 2019.

The full time, 3 year program will enable students to gain knowledge and professional skills preparing them to enter a wide-range of careers or postgraduate study in the field of social justice. Topics studied within the degree include education, politics, health studies and social policy.

The course will explore how students can contribute to social policy, community engagement, social equality and human rights. After graduation students will be able to access careers in community outreach work, teaching and the education sector, journalism, charity and activist work, youth work, health and welfare, local and national government, international relations, sustainable development and more.

The degree is structured around employability. Students will gain valuable experience when they undertake a 100 hour placement in the 2nd year that will provide them with industry-recognised experience.

The course will be introduced at a launch event on Friday 12th July which will offer taster sessions from 2-4pm at the College’s Blossomfield Campus. The event will include an introduction to the course and visits from employers.

Course Tutor, Dr. Michelle Kempson states; ‘This course will appeal to anyone who is interested in making a difference in society’.
