College Celebrates Outstanding Digital T-Level Results

15th August 2024

Solihull College & University Centre is delighted to announce that all students studying the T-Level in Digital Production, Design, and Development have achieved either a Pass or higher, with the majority of the students securing Merits or Distinctions – equivalent to BBB at A-Level.

This outstanding accomplishment underscores the dedication of the students and the excellence of the College’s teaching staff.

T-Levels are a two-year technical study programme designed with employers to equip young people with the skills that industry demands. The T-Level in Digital Production, Design, and Development provides students with an in-depth education in programming, software development, and the application of digital technologies across various sectors.

A significant number of this year’s T-Level students have secured full-time employment or apprenticeships with the very organisations where they completed their industry placements, marking a seamless transition from education to the workforce. This is a testament to the effectiveness of the T-Level programme in preparing students for careers in digital software development, whether they choose to progress via university or through an apprenticeship.

Lecturer Simon Hunt, who has played a pivotal role in guiding the students through this rigorous programme, praised their achievements: “We are incredibly proud of our students and their accomplishments. The T-Level programme is designed to provide them with the technical skills and practical experience that the industry needs, and their success is a reflection of both their hard work and the strength of our industry partnerships. It’s particularly gratifying to see so many students move directly into employment or apprenticeships with the organisations where they completed their placements.”

Among the successful students are Matt and Josh, both of whom excelled in their studies and are now poised to begin promising careers. Matt will be joining Serco as a full-time employee, while Josh has secured an apprenticeship with ABP Food Group UK. Both companies have been key supporters of the T-Level programme and its industry placement provision.

The impressive results achieved by this year’s cohort serve as both an inspiration and a benchmark for future excellence in technical education. Congratulations to all!

We welcome organisations interested in supporting the next generation of digital talent to partner with us by offering industry placements for our T-Level students. Please contact Simon Hunt via email to explore how you can make a meaningful impact and collaborate with our talented students.
