Solihull College & University Centre students and staff are celebrating after achieving a Silver award in the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
TEF (the Teaching Excellence Framework) is run by the Office for Students (OfS). Each Higher Education provider is awarded either Gold, Silver, Bronze or ‘requires improvement’. The ratings reflect the extent to which a university or college delivers an excellent experience and outcomes for its students.
The Silver award signifies that Solihull College & University Centre’s student experience and student outcomes are ‘typically very high quality’ as judged by a panel made up of independent academics and students.
The panel judged staff professional development, academic practice, the educational gains of learners, and aspects of teaching, assessment and feedback to be of an outstanding quality.
Principal, Dr Rebecca Gater, commented: “The College is committed to providing an outstanding and inclusive experience for all our learners. We are delighted with this result and look forward to working with staff and students to deliver further improvements in line with our mission to support aspiration, create opportunities and deliver impact.”
