Cabin Crew students from Solihull College & University Centre have received their ‘wings’ in a ceremony organised by fellow students at Blossomfield Campus.
The ceremony marks the 6 week point in students’ one-year Cabin Crew course, which provides a solid training ground for students wishing to work as Cabin Crew in the aviation sector. The course provides the opportunity for students to learn and practice the skills required for employment in the industry.
The students will soon be attending wet drill life raft procedures as well as taking part in a visit to the British Airways Training Academy at Heathrow Airport.
The course is led by former industry professionals who have worked in a range of roles in the sector. Lecturer Michelle Mills is always keen to hear what the College’s former students have gone on to achieve in industry.
She comments: “We’ve had learners go on to work as Cabin Crew for British Airways, Jet2, TUI, and the largest handling agents at Birmingham Airport, Swissport. It’s great to see them do so well after the course!”
The Wings ceremony mimics the ceremony cabin crew receive upon completion of their training with an airline. The College’s celebration was organised by Travel & Tourism students assisted by Customer Service students – a great team effort!
Following completion of the Cabin Crew course, learners have the option of continuing their studies with the Level 3 Travel & Tourism Diploma.
