Three Solihull College & University Centre students have secured themselves employment whilst completing their Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy.
Students Charlotte Sexton, Greta Tlak and Daljeet Matharu have all impressed local employers after following their passion of beauty therapy. Charlotte, Greta and Daljeet are all currently working towards their beauty therapy qualification with Greta and Daljeet also previously completing their English qualification at the College and Charlotte having her level 2 qualification in beauty therapy under her belt.
All three students have worked hard throughout their time at the College and this has now paid off as they have all secured employment at various Spas within the local area. Charlotte, who has always known she wanted to have a career within the Spa industry has received multiple job offers and is now about to start working at The Cube in Birmingham’s Mailbox in just 2 weeks.
Charlotte was put through her paces in her interview as she was tasked with 3 different exams, giving the area manager an aromatherapy massage as well as working on reception. Charlotte impressed at The Cube and was offered the job which she was delighted with. Daljeet also impressed her new employers Ardencote Manor in Warwick as her skills in nail art and back massages was put to the test.
After completing work experience through her course at Ragdale Hall in Melton Mowbray Greta was offered a job straight away as her new employers were so impressed with her skills and work ethic whilst on placement. Greta, who is soon due to get married, will be starting at the Spa and Health Club after she returns from honeymoon.
All of the students believe that their studies at Solihull College & University Centre have aided to their successful employment greatly with Charlotte commenting:
“The course has changed us personally; I use all the tips we learn at College at home and the skills you learn can take you anywhere, to work on cruise ships for example. It’s a credit to our tutors that we have all managed to find jobs so quickly as without them we wouldn’t be as confident and the teaching is of a really good standard; they have improved our theory knowledge greatly.”
Whilst studying at the College the beauty students use a range of professional products and can also take advantage of the excellent facilities on offer such as the massage beds.
Greta added “The beauty rooms are really good and allow you to develop your own skills. We use products such as Elemis on the course which Ragdale Hall were really impressed with as they didn’t need to train me how to use the products. I would definitely recommend the course.”
The beauty students, who are set to complete their qualifications this year, all plan to gain industry experience before one day owning their own businesses with Charlotte already putting plans into action to achieve this.
