Who Are We?
As a major institution of both further and higher educational provision in the West Midlands and Warwickshire, our aim is simple – to make significant contributions to the local and regional economies and beyond, by providing high quality vocational education and training for individuals, employers and the wider community. As such, our provision is designed to be up to date, flexible, accessible and responsive to all our customers’ needs, serving approximately 11,000 students.
Solihull College & University Centre and Stratford-upon-Avon College merged in February 2018 and the College now operates out of three main campuses: Blossomfield (South Solihull), Woodlands (North Solihull) and Stratford-upon-Avon. We also have provision at several satellite centres throughout Solihull and on work based programmes throughout the region and beyond.
We have state-of-the-art facilities and an excellent learning/working environment across the campuses, including an aircraft hangar, animal welfare centre, sports complex, arts centre and specialist vocational workshops.
At Stratford-upon-Avon College we have recently completed our £13million redevelopment project, which has included a new TV and radio studio, gym, library, plumbing and electrical workshops, café area, and a beautifully landscaped ‘green heart’. The College also secured funding to update the theatres with industry-standard equipment – including making one of the theatre’s gantry areas fully accessible for wheelchair users – one of only a few in the UK to offer this inclusivity.
At present, we employ approximately 280 full time and proportional teaching staff within the main curriculum areas. We also employ approximately 350 support staff and approximately 180 part time teachers.
We are proud of the open and friendly environment within our organisation. Solihull College & University Centre will provide you with significant and exciting challenges and genuine career and development opportunities. Never have the challenges and opportunities within post compulsory education been greater. Ultimately it is our people, their drive, commitment and vision that will take us in the direction we want to go.
