Working with animals can be an extremely rewarding career where no two days are the same. With a host of animals living onsite including meerkats, reptiles, donkeys and birds to name a few, studying at Solihull College & University Centre will provide you with the hands on experience you’ll need to get ahead in your exciting career.
Our Land Based Centre encompasses a three-storey building, complete with specialist rooms to accommodate our diverse animal family including aviary birds, parrots, skunks and rabbits. In addition, a large range of exotics including lizards, snakes, tortoises, fish and turtles are also enjoying life in our specially designed reptile habitats.
Two external barns and paddocks have also been built to house our larger animals of goats and pigs. The Centre has been thoughtfully designed to provide first-class and practical facilities for students on our higher level Animal Management programmes.
We are the only College within the local area boasting these enviable courses and amenities, attracting students from across the West Midlands and Warwickshire regions including Birmingham and Coventry.
Our university level programmes in Animal Behaviour & Welfare/Advanced Veterinary Nursing provide an educational foundation for a range of careers in the management and welfare of animals. The courses provide an ideal progression route in to employment within the animal management sector, including working in animal rescue centres, zoos, veterinary practices and many more.
