What will I study?

In addition to the specific outcomes detailed below, prior to certification, learners are required to show evidence of:

  • attending the ACT Awareness e-learning counter terrorism training prior to certification
  • attending first aid training or attaining a recognised first-aid award (acceptable evidence guidance in Appendix 1)

To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety qualification the learner must achieve all 5 mandatory units and if the role and employment settings require, they will need to achieve the optional unit in dealing with PI.

Mandatory unit are prepare for spectator events, assist with movement of spectators and deal with crowd issues at events, help to manage and resolve conflict, deal with incidents at spectator events, support the work of your team and organisation. Optional unit on Physical intervention if required.

How will this course be delivered?

This is a blended learning course. You will be required in college for a maximum of 5 days in total and will do self study as guided from home. The full duration of the course will be approximately one month in total.

What qualifications will I get?

Level 2 Spectator Safety qualification through Highfields.

How will I be assessed?

Completing a portfolio of evidence and being assessed in the work place on the job doing stewarding by a supervisor or head of security supplying a witness testimony.

How do I get a place on the course?

Complete an application form, successful interview and a reference.

What are the entry requirements?

Successful interview and initial assessment.

What else do I need to know?

What can I do after this course?

Gain employment in spectator safety in sports stadiums or at events. Progress onto a level 3 qualification. Gain a security qualification or SIA licence.
