Where will this course lead?

Upon completion of a Foundation Diploma in Hospitality Business, students may choose to enter the workforce in entry-level positions within the hospitality industry or pursue further education, such as a bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field. Additionally, the diploma can be a stepping stone for those who wish to specialise in specific areas of hospitality through more advanced studies or gain practical experience in the field.

What will I study?

  • Food and Beverage Management: Basics of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, catering, and restaurant management.
  • Accommodation Management: Introduction to hotel operations, housekeeping, front office management, and reservations.
  • Event Management: An overview of planning and organizing events, conferences, and other hospitality-related functions.
  • Tourism and Travel: Understanding the tourism industry, travel agencies, and destination management.
  • Legal and Ethical Issues: Introduction to legal and ethical considerations in the hospitality business, including regulations and compliance.
  • Practical Training: Some programs may include hands-on training or internships to provide real-world experience in a hospitality setting.

The course is classroom based and is a 2-year part time course.

A series of practical and written assessments, including assignments and the opportunity to complete work experience.

What are the entry requirements?

A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in the hospitality sector

GCSE maths and English at grade 4 (C) of above

Preferably previous experience in the hospitality sector
