Are you or do you have children that are enthusiastic about cars? Are you/they keen to learn more?
This course is designed to offer parents and children an introduction into basic car maintenance. Both parents and children can undertake useful tasks that they can also complete at home and seeks to offer an awareness of motor vehicle maintenance.
During this course you and your child will be able to undertake the following tasks.
The course will be delivered within a workshop practical environment and will include a small amount of relevant theory linking to the tasks. There will be plenty of opportunity to try it for yourself and get hands on with the tasks.
There are no formal qualifications for this course. Please refer to our website for further information surrounding motor vehicle qualifications if you wish to undertake study towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Children must be accompanied by one or more parents; Children must be 10 years of age or over. Only 1 child per parent.
Please ensure that on the day of the course all participants adults and children are wearing items of clothing that they do not mind getting dirty. This motor vehicle course is a hands-on programme where all participants will be getting involved with the vehicles. Gloves and safety googles will be provided to you during the day.
For eager children, this course is perfect for solidifying interest in motor vehicle which they may wish to progress a career within progressing on to a level 1 motor vehicle maintenance course when they reach 16. For parents wishing to progress further Basic Car Maintenance, Intermediate car maintenance and engine rebuild community learning courses are available and further full time programmes are available.
