Access to Further Education (ESOL) is a one year, full-time, entry level programme specifically aimed at ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) that includes a strong emphasis on developing English skills whilst also studying maths, personal social development and vocational studies.
Our courses are designed for to enable you to improve your skills in order to progress on to level 1 and 2 vocational courses.
The course includes Functional Skills Maths and ESOL Skills for Life English, as well as Personal Social Development and a taste of different vocational options such as ICT, Art, Sport and Animal Care.
You will study up to a maximum of seventeen hours per week over four days. Classes generally run between 9am-5pm but may vary. Timetables will be given to all students during enrolment and induction week.

Assessment will include:
- Course work
- Assignments
- Online tests
- Written exams Some parts of the course will be assessed by course tutors and verified by an awarding body.
Fill out an application form and we will invite you in for an interview.
Students will be asked to take part in an initial assessment to determine if you have the correct level of Maths and English skills. You will also be asked for a reference.
The course is offered at our Blossomfield Campus. You will be need to provide all basic stationery including pens, pencils, paper, plastic wallets, folders plus any additional stationery which is required for your course. There may be additional costs for trips throughout the year but these will total no more than £25.
