Where will this course lead?

The qualification is designed for learners seeking the skills and knowledge needed to develop a business start-up. It will give learners an understanding of the initial processes and requirements of a business start-up, knowledge of the first steps in creating a business start-up, including the marketing, legal and financial requirements, and an understanding of how to write a business plan.

This qualification will: 

  • focus on the study of starting a business
  • support learners in creating a business plan.

The objective of this qualification is to:

  • gain an understanding of the steps of creating and developing a business start-up
  • develop an awareness of business skills
  • increase self-awareness and aid personal development.

What will I study?

For this course you will need to choose a business start-up idea if you don't already have one.

  • Create a logo for your Business.
  • Create two pieces of promotional materials for your business start up
  • Produce an invoice and payment receipt template for your business start-up.
  • Create a Business plan for your Business start up

How will this course be delivered?

This course will be available as an Online or paper based or combination of the two and should take no more than 6 weeks to complete distance learning.

What qualifications will I get?

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Creating a Business start-up

How will I be assessed?

Assessments will be marked by an allocated tutor who will provide you with detailed feedback. You will be assessed against criteria where all learning outcomes of the course have to be covered; your tutor will give you guidance for this.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be aged 19+ and be a British or Irish citizen that has lived within the UK for at least 3 years. You must also be based in England; however, some postcode exclusions apply - please enquire for confirmation of eligibility. In addition to this, please note that participants cannot be currently enrolled on an apprenticeship.

These courses are fully funded at zero cost unless they are not completed and learning materials are retained by the learner; please note that in these circumstances, there is a £125 fee.
