Where will this course lead?

This course is suitable for those who have never studied Spanish before and would like to be able to communicate effectively in most everyday situations in Spain or a Spanish speaking country.

It is also a useful refresher for those with a very basic knowledge of the language.

What will I study?

The basic skills covered are speaking, listening, reading and writing in Spanish.

You will learn a range of useful vocabulary, key phrases and accurate pronunciation.

Terms 1 & 2 - The Spanish Beginners Course covers basic Spanish phrases including greeting and introducing yourself, talking about family, nationality and professions. You will learn how to order food and drinks. You will also learn numbers and days of the week.

Term 3 - The Improvers course covers use of present, past and future tense. 

You will gain confidence in conversation skills, talking about past events, future plans, holidays, likes and dislikes. You will also learn to describe the weather and describe a place or someone.

You will be taught new vocabulary, grammar and you will learn about past and future tenses.

How will this course be delivered?

A two-hour class each week.

This course is delivered at various venues throughout the year.

What qualifications will I get?

This is a personal development course.

How will I be assessed?

Includes everything covered in Term 1&2.  Talk about what do you do on your holiday, at work and in your free time using the three tenses (past, present, future).

This course is for personal development and is informally assessed by the tutor with self-assessment and evaluation by the student.

What are the entry requirements?

Students should be age 19+

To study the January course, you need to have completed term 1 or have a basic knowledge of Spanish. Please note that we can only accept enrolments for the April start date from those students that have completed terms 1 and 2.

What else do I need to know?

Bring a pen and paper to your lesson.

What can I do after this course?

We also offer a range of craft courses for adults, as well as Wider Family Learning courses designed for adults and children to learn together.
