Where will this course lead?

In this course you will learn how to create, script, record, and produce a podcast.

You'll also learn how to engage an audience by being yourself, talking about a subject you're passionate about, and all whilst growing as a presenter and a producer.

You'll develop a wide range of skills that will transfer to areas of media outside of podcasting, and to life itself.

The skills you learn could help you to develop a new hobby or could enable you to progress onto our new podcasting bootcamp.

What will I study?

We'll cover topics such as:

  • How to build confidence as you find and talk to people in your own authentic voice.
  • Learning how to share stories that connect with audiences using imagery, pauses, and personality.
  • The importance of talking to an audience on a one-to-one, intimate level.
  • Writing scripts for your own voice, and how to write for others to present.
  • Recording and microphone techniques.
  • How to create the sound and style of your podcast using music and features.
  • Interview techniques as both a host and a guest.
  • How to take raw audio and edit out filler words to make your show flow and engage.

The skills you'll learn to podcast can be transferred to radio and TV, as well as other aspects of journalism and creative work.

How will this course be delivered?

In person at our Blossomfield Campus across 10 weeks. It will be delivered using audio examples, as well as videos and there will be room for discussion and brainstorming.
