Are you and your child looking for a crafty activity to do together? This is a great opportunity for you and your child to develop a shared interest whilst spending valuable time together developing your artistic skills.
You will learn specific handbuilding techniques to create your own unique piece. The tutor will support you to explore your own ideas and show you how to apply techniques you have learned to your work. You will have access to a range of underglaze colours to decorate your creations.
The course is led by a ceramics tutor who will explain hand building techniques appropriate to the task and provide a range of resources to help you develop your own idea. Parents will be contacted when fired pieces are ready for collection (4 weeks after completion of the session)
Please contact our student services department by dialling 0121 678 7000 - option 2. If you are unable to get through, please send an e-mail to Community@solihull.ac.uk.
You must be 19 years or older.
Your child must be 8 years or older to join you on this course.
There is only 1 child space per adult. You cannot bring more than 1 child with you.
Please ensure that on the day of the course all participants are wearing items they do not mind getting dirty. Aprons will be provided.
We can offer family learning at your child's school - if you enjoy the session, please ask your school to contact debbie.mcleod@solihull.ac.uk. We offer 10 week courses where you can learn how to help your child with their English and maths, learn about grammar, or even complete a English and maths course yourself.
