Where will this course lead?

This Pre-Apprenticeship Programme for introduction to available business apprenticeships and is a short-term intensive program aimed at equipping participants with a broader understanding of apprenticeships. The duration allows for a thorough exploration of the subject matter and the development of practical skills crucial for success in the customer service, business administration and management professions at levels 2 and 3.

What will I study?

There are various topics covered to prepare individuals to lead and team in different organisations and industries but focusing mainly on business functions. You will develop firm understanding of how apprenticeships work and succeed by self-awareness of individual capabilities and through activities in a team environment.

This will culminate with a personal development planning and employability skills workshop to aid application to gaining apprenticeships and introduction to local employers looking to employ apprentices.

How do I get a place on the course?

Applicants are invited to send their current CV via email to adult.skills@solihull.ac.uk and then fill in the application form.

What are the entry requirements?

No formal entry requirements needed however only 19+ years of age who live in the West Midlands Combined Authority area postcode (Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton) Coventry or Warwickshire need apply. Applicants must also fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Have a high interest in gaining an apprenticeship.
  • Have experience or work in a business setting and wishing to progress on an apprenticeship.
  • Unemployed and seeking new employment opportunities.

This programme offers a versatile learning environment that caters to a broad range of applicants with varying levels of experience and career objectives.

What else do I need to know?

This course is free if you are aged 19+ and live in West Midlands, Coventry or Warwickshire area.
