What will I study?

The Bootcamp focuses on the storytelling through moving image project, offering a structured approach to development, production, and marketing:

• Development: Learn how to craft compelling narratives, pitch project ideas, and plan production logistics
• Production: Gain hands-on experience in filming, develop technical skills and work in a creative teams while exploring innovative techniques
• Marketing & Distribution: Understand the key strategies to market your project

Tuesday evening masterclass provides additional learning opportunities, with topics ranging from advanced storytelling techniques to effective team collaboration.

How will this course be delivered?

The 10-week Bootcamp combines practical, project-based learning with expert-led evening masterclasses:

• Sessions: are held Tuesday evening 4:30-9pm to accommodate busy schedules. There will also be production and post production days if you wish to be involved.
• Project Work: Participants will collaborate on two moving image project during workshops and receive ongoing mentorship.
• Facilities & Resources: You'll have access to Solihull College's film-making equipment and a £1000 budget overall budget to support production needs, this may include props, costumes, and location fees.

What qualifications will I get?

There is no formal qualification.

What are the entry requirements?

To qualify for this FREE* course, you must be over 19 years of age, live in the West Midlands Combined Authority area postcode (Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton), Coventry or Warwick.

Due to the nature of the course, we will be travelling around the West Midlands for workshops. This course is Free if you are aged 19+ and live in West Midlands, Coventry or Warwickshire area.
