Where will this course lead?

The aim of the qualification is to provide candidates with an introduction to book-keeping practices and to process source documents that underpin accurate record keeping.

On completion of these qualifications' candidates may progress into employment or to higher levels of study in accounting practices.

A range of careers are open to you on completion of these qualifications.

  • Accounts clerk
  • Finance clerk
  • Trainee accountant.

What will I study?

Candidates will develop skills to carry out routine book-keeping processes such as :

1. Process documents involved in financial record keeping

2. Develop underpinning knowledge of book-keeping principles

3. Prepare statements as a preliminary to financial control.

How will this course be delivered?

This is a 10-week course delivered face to face in a classroom setting.

What qualifications will I get?

Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping

How will I be assessed?

There is one computer-based assessment in total which you may sit at our AAT accredited exam centre.

The assessment includes eight tasks, and you are allowed 90 minutes

How do I get a place on the course?

For entry onto this qualification, you will be asked to take short assessments in literacy and numeracy, you will then be given advice with one of our expert Tutors.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need a standard of maths and English equivalent to Functional skills Level 1.
