The qualification will lead to the award 'BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Computing (Cyber Security)' giving students the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to achieve high performance in the national and international digital technologies environment. The Higher National Diploma in Computing with HTQ status in Cyber Security is a two-year higher-level course, equivalent to the second year of a university degree programme. How will this course be delivered?

The Higher National Diploma in Computing (Cyber Security) HTQ is a two-year full-time course.

The programme consists of practical classroom-based exercises and study. The course delivery uses traditional teaching, presentations and demonstrations, tutorials, group seminars, on-line and self-directed study.

What qualifications will I get?

You will obtain The Higher National Diploma in Computing (Cyber Security) upon achieving 240 credits, of which 120 credits are at Level 5 (7 units) and 120 credits are at Level 4 (8 units).

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is through course work, assignments, individual or group projects.

What are the entry requirements?

· A minimum of 64 Tariff points and/or a BTEC Extended Diploma with an overall grade of PPM.

· You will also need English Language and Mathematics GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, or a recognised equivalent.

· Entry is also available from T Levels with a passing grade.

English language requirements

Students who are non-native English speakers or who have not studied the final two years of school in English but can demonstrate capability in English at a standard commensurate to IELTS 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 being awarded on individual sections for a level 4, 5 or 6 qualifications may be considered as eligible to apply for the programme.

What else do I need to know?

This course is a full-time programme. Timetables will be issued to successful applicants at induction and enrolment in September of the current Academic year.

Following successful achievement of the Higher National Diploma in Computing with HTQ status in Cyber Security further study can be achieved through a Top Up Degree, to gain a BSc at University level.
