Solihull College & University Centre is experiencing record distance learning enrolment numbers as courses surge in popularity throughout the COVID-19 lockdown.
The College’s Employer Services team has been busy throughout the closure as people look to alternative study methods and take the opportunity to gain new qualifications while studying flexibly from home.
Oliver Matthews, Employer Services Manager at the College, commented: “During these unprecedented circumstances we have made great efforts to continue supporting the regional and national demand for our distance learning opportunities. With over 30 popular courses to choose from at zero cost to the student, we are pleased to assist businesses seeking employee engagement initiatives and learners keen on continuing their professional development from home.”
The two courses that have had the biggest uptake so far are ‘Principles of Business Administration’ and ‘Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health’. Management and Data Protection courses have also been rising in popularity. New courses have recently been added including ‘Understanding Mental Health First Aid & Mental Health Advocacy in The Workplace’.
Oliver adds: “Distance learning enables you to study flexibly at a pace, time and location that suits you as you progress towards an accredited qualification.”
