Monday, 9 May, 2016

Solihull College & University Centre’s indoor cricket team secured victory in their inter-regional competition recently, beating other colleges including Bournville College to represent the West Midlands in the national indoor competition which was held at Edgbaston Indoor Cricket Centre.

The national indoor competition, which is run by the ECB, includes teams from all over the country who came together to compete for the title of National Indoor Cricket Champions. After making a positive start and winning their first two games, the College team needed to beat Peterborough College to progress to the final.

Unfortunately, the Solihull College & University Centre team narrowly missed out on beating Peterborough College by just three runs.  Natalie Manca-Wilcox, the College’s Sport Maker commented that the team was very proud of their third-place finish. The team consisted of Mohammed Karim, Zohaib Zahid, Omar Zaman, Raqib Zaman, Gulab Shah and Muslim Rasool.

Well done to all of the team.
